Increasing Resiliency in Vermont's Food System

Salvation Farms is a Morrisville-based nonprofit with work that often brings them to Chittenden County and beyond.  Their mission is to increase resilience in Vermont's food system. Their programs center around getting surplus crops from farms out into the community, from the Vermont Gleaning Collective (members include the Intervale Center) to their workforce development program in Winooski (recently featured on Across the Fence) where they package Vermont-grown, surplus crops that otherwise would have gone uneaten, and make them available to food programs statewide.
