The members of the Colchester Milton Rotary Club would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and supported this year's Fill The Truck For The Food Shelf event.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we collected 1,651 pounds of food and $1,550 in monetary donations to benefit the food shelves serving Colchester, Milton, and the Champlain Islands.
What makes this achievement even more meaningful is knowing that every can, box, bag, and dollar donated will help local families facing food insecurity right here in our communities.
This year's success adds to an amazing legacy of community support. Since launching Fill The Truck, our volunteers, donors, and community partners have helped collect more than 8 tons of food and over $37,000 for local food shelves. Those numbers represent thousands of meals, countless acts of kindness, and a community that consistently steps up when neighbors need help.
A special thank you goes out to our dedicated Rotary volunteers who donated their time throughout the event, as well as the generous shoppers who added a few extra items to their carts for someone in need. We also appreciate the support of Shaw's and Price Chopper Supermarkets, which help make this annual tradition possible.
Together, we continue to prove that when a community works together, small acts of generosity can create a tremendous impact.
Thank you for helping us fill the truck - and, more importantly, helping us fill plates across our communities.
