In 2006, Michael and his wife, Valerie, founded Front Porch Forum with a simple idea: create an easy and safe way for neighbors to connect with one another. What started as an effort to better know the people in their own Burlington neighborhood has grown into a platform that now serves communities across all of Vermont, with a majority of Vermont households subscribing today.

Under Michael’s leadership, Front Porch Forum has become an important part of community life throughout the state, helping neighbors share information, support one another, organize local events, solve everyday challenges, and strengthen civic engagement. Millions of postings later, the mission remains the same: building stronger, more connected communities one neighborhood at a time.
