Colchester Police Department

Douglas Allen became the 3 rd chief of the Colchester Police Department in 2018. The Colchester Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency with 29 sworn officers, two full time two records staff and eight communications specialists He has 35 years with Colchester Police Department as a Patrol officer, Youth Service Officer, Sergeant, Lieutenant.  Doug started police work in his home town of Wilmington VT upon graduating from Lyndon State College with BS in Communication in 1981.  He is a Life Member Colchester Rescue.  Coach for Colchester Middle School Girls Soccer for  10 years and is active with Champlain Valley Skating Club.  Doug lives in Colchester with wife Shelly.  They have two grown daughters, Courtney and Jessie.
