The Colchester-Milton Rotary Club is distributing food and gift items to families in need on Saturday December 13th. This is both a fundraiser and a community service event, as we raise donations of items and cash to buy food and other gifts to distribute to those in need. The holiday basket program started as a church project in the 1970's, and the Club became increasingly involved in the 1990's. We took over the project at the turn of the century, and we have dutifully provided much-needed relief to Colchester families ever since. The 2025 distribution takes place on 12/13. Leading up to the big event, there is a need for groups and individuals to volunteer time in a multitude of ways, such as collecting donations, setting up for assembly, taking inventory of donated and purchased items, and assembling the "baskets" to deliver. All these efforts culminate in a one-day basket delivery event. We completed the basket delivery using resources from Colchester's first responders, including St Michael's Fire and Rescue, local Rotarians, and friends and family of Rotarians. You may learn more about the event on the following landing page: https://cmrotary.org/page/holiday-baskets
