Rachel Jolly, Assistant CEDO Director, heads up the Burlington Community Justice Center (BCJC) and is a strong believer in restorative practices. She brings over 25 years of experience as an educator and has a deep interest in fostering personal and community development. At the BCJC, Rachel is responsible for supervising a team of talented staff and collaborating with local and state agencies to ensure the continued development and support of programming that enhances justice for victims, offenders and community members. Prior to coming to the City, she worked at Vermont Works for Women, ECHO at the Leahy Center for Lake Champlain and for the Burlington School District. She holds a BS in Environmental Studies from UVM and, thanks to the Rotary Foundation’s Ambassadorial Scholarship, a MEd in Environmental Education from Rhodes University in South Africa. She serves on the Board of VT Adult Learning

The Burlington CJC is the oldest of 20 CJC’s in the state and one of five in Chittenden County. As of July 1, 2019, we became the Court Diversion and Pretrial Service provider for Chittenden County. We use restorative justice principles to address crime and conflict and run a variety of programs from preventative work in the Burlington schools to reentry work postincarceration.
