The Colchester Milton Rotary Club sponsored a local program called "Give a Gallon."  They labeled one gallon cans and placed them in businesses around the area, asking for donations of $5.00 which was about the price of a gallon of fuel oil.

Even if people donated a buck, it was good.  They helped buy even a little heating fuel thereby keeping someone comfortable and warm this winter, instead of cold and miserable, it was well worth the effort.  The program was kicked off at the meeting of the Colchester Milton Rotary Club on Thursday, October 17, 2008, at noon at the Hampton Inn at exit 17.  The club collected  $3,500 for their efforts and presented the check to the Chittenden County United Way on Thursday, February 5th
